The power of words. Words can build, words can hurt , words can express love, words can teach hate, words can express anger, words can speak life and words can speak death and yet the same words can bless. I took some time to study the power of words. In the old testament, when a man was old and was about to die, he would call on his first born son and speak a blessing over his life, and this blessing was not an inheritance of physical belongings or possessions, but words spoken over a life and after the father had passed it was not long before these words became real to the child. And as a lesson we need to learn to be careful about what words come out of our mouths, and words we speak to other people, the Bible states in Genesis 1, that God spoke everything into creation, this is a great example of the power of words. John 1 vs. 1 states that In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. Verse 14 says “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. This is proof about what words can do and what words can bring to your life and to people we have influence on. In summary be careful about what words we use to people we have influence on, even your children. Speak a blessing today and be a blessing to others so that they can experience the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Peter Kamwendo. |
